March 2020 - present

Content Strategist, Lavari Jewelers

  • Developed new voices for two established jewelry brands from scratch by writing new copy, editing existing copy, and assigning copy projects to other creatives on the team. 

  • Developed SEO and copy strategies to recover sale losses due to COVID by the end of Q2, with Q3 reaching all-time highs.

  • Raised SEO conversion rates by 60% in first three months of work; in January 2021 both brands outperformed their entire Q1 from 2020 in both web engagement and revenue.

  • Targeted content to customer needs, such as ways to accessorize with a mask or how to disinfect jewelry without damaging it.

  • Created a personality quiz, a chatbot program, and a purchase flow to lead customers to more content.

  • Wrote style guides and held creative team meetings to maximize quality of delegated copy.

UX Writer/ Designer, Seguro Project

  • Conducted research to supplement existing research by the company, producing a plan for supporting women in their journey toward leaving situations of domestic violence. 

  • Designed an opening flow for the company's AI chatbot that efficiently filters users based on the wide variety of needs domestic violence survivors can have, directing the chatbot to the content they're looking for.

  • Currently building informational flows to indirectly lead women who may not understand themselves to be suffering from domestic violence to a fuller understanding of their situations, so that they can take control.

Contributing Editor, FF2 Media

  • After being hired as associate film reviewer, rose to a contributing editorship over four years.

  • Interviewed high-profile women in film: Sally Potter, Miranda de Pencier, Melissa Silverstein.

  • Covered the Athena Film Festival yearly, producing a front-page feature on the event.

August 2017 - (hiatus)

Editor in Chief, Queerly

  • As a passion project, published 2-3 articles on queer literature and culture per week, taking pieces from pitches through the drafting process and promoting through social media and SEO.

  • Used SEO, social media strategy, and a website redesign to nearly double traffic upon taking the helm in August 2019—from 600 up to 1000 unique visitors per month. 

  • Created a database of trivia questions that attracted the top trivia players in the world, including Ken Jennings.

  • Designed themed quiz sets, new quiz formats, and new forms of puzzles to keep users engaged and constantly discovering new ways to use trivia.

  • Created daily horoscopes for the twelve zodiac signs for the entire calendar year.

  • Extensively researched planetary transits to give each sign the most relevant and contextualized horoscope possible.

AI Conversational Copywriter, Kartikey Group

  • Designed chatbot flows and a voicing style for an astrology app's AI chatbot, using conversational structure and quality horoscope content to simulate the experience of speaking to an astrologer.

  • Used psychology research to create additional flows that linked personality traits of the signs to self-help content, e.g. content on perfectionism that a Virgo might be offered after specific interactions with the app.

  • Received a BFA in Film and Television, graduated with honors.

  • Thesis film selected for 23 film festivals, including NewFilmmakers NY.
